Hi Peeps..Hopefully this is the correct part now...Although i don't like the plastic nut...The one i ordered had a brass nut and a brown plug...Mind you it doesn't need to be ultra tight in there anyway.

I will fit and see what happens tomorrow and if it okay then will post up the part number...Although i think they are responsible for the depletion in amazonian rainforests...
When this big box turned up i thought..."WTF is that"..

Oh well opened it up...Brake discs???

Unfortunately the sender doesn't seem to work either...So thats going back...The part number i have is an FAE number 33370 , This was on the old one that came out and on the new one but that didn't work so i ordered the other which turned up with a plastic nut instead of a brass one...

If none make a difference then maybe its not at fault..Although the mis-firing stops when its un-plugged...Its just a pig to start in the morning and is using an horrendous amount of fuel...Wah!!!

Hi Paul...Thats the exact part number that i have on the new one i bought..I have another from a friend which was definitely working and so i will try that first in the morning..Its possible to be sold duff parts..I will test it as well as the one from mine wasn't giving any resistance reading when being tested out of the car..It flashed 1.035 on a cold engine and then went off..If this one works then theres my answer...Thanks...

I think your problem is not the temp sender though it is odd that the misfire stops when it's unplugged. Ignition module is easy and cheap to change, failing that maybe its a high tension lead fault like shorting out or something.

Hi Tony...Not yet mate..I was going to do that but again have the wrong part...Its the type with two large spade connectors rather than the small plug connection, However i do have a fitting that a friend gave me so that will be the next suspect...Although the car runs really well once its warmed up..Plenty of power and grunt and actually sounds even louder and more growly on acceleration...Thanks for the input...Cheers...Ziga

Seems you were on the money here mate...Tested the variants of senders that i have and after establishing that my old one is dead i found that the one borrowed from a friend which is known to work tests the same as the first one i bought and has the same part number..33370...So i fitted the initial one that i bought.....Then checking the connections were the next step...I then found that the pins inside the plug for the sender were recessed slightly so removed the rubber grommet and then found this...I used some amalgamating tape to seal up and hold the wires in place before replacing the rubber boot.

I thought while I'm at it ill check the thermotime wire and found this..Years of twisting fiddly fingers i suspect..I didn't want to risk pulling the boot off so used some black-tac electrical insulation and some fire-proof tape...Started her up..She ran a little rough but after a minute was okay..Couldn't test her properly as the kitchen fitter is here...The weather is amazing....
