Chassis rustproofing near the exhaust
Discussion
On my 400SE, the exhaust manifolds run parallel to two of the main chassis rails and are so close that they occasionally knock against the chassis when the engine rocks on it's mountings. This means that the chassis rails must get fairly hot at these points. The powder coating has gone and the rails are rusting. What can anyone suggest to rustproof the chassis rails that will withstand the heat of the exhaust? Waxoyl and POR15 don't appear to be heatproof. What do you guys use?
