Engine cleanup ?

HI guys, what have you done to tart up the engine on your cars. How far back to the block etc did you take it back? Did you use a sand blaster? What did you use to paint it? Has it lasted? Starting to work on the engine and box now, need it too look nice. Not too tarty but a bit better than stock. Please can you supply pics to give me an idea of wht to aim for..............ta like UG
