Hi

I am trying to put together a data base of the Tas 200 as now I own one it has shown up how different a car they are (Apart from the engine)
So if anybody on PH or the other FB page have a Tas 200 would they please get in contact with ref there cars details etc, either do it on here or on the TVRCC wedge forum or direct to me.

The Tas 200 maybe the junior wedge engine wise but all its differences need to be noted as it is a wedge no matter what engine it has.

Hi Andy , I will send You an email about My one sometime next week . Brought as a project and still a pile of bits.
Hi Geoff

Thanks for the reply, as you are in the Camb's area, if the car is as well I would love to come and have a look to compare it with mine and the others I have seen.

Hi Andy ,
sorry but not convenient at present to come and see it as it is stuffed away under loads other stuff . There is not a lot to see anyway as I didn't get any interior other than the dash.
More bad news in that the previous owner ( not a TVR man ) had shortened the chassis to try and fit it under a vixen bodyshell ! Real shame as the chassis is in really good condition.
Will get in touch in new year when I have moved stuff out of the way.

Cheers
Geoff.
Hi Geoff

Thanks for the reply I look forward to seeing the shortened Chassis, what do you intend to do to it then?

it's not a pretty job on the chassis , not sure I'll get round to doing anything with it , it's long way down the project list at present. I have another chassis from an ex race tasmin that could be pressed into service.
Hi Geoff

A replacement chassis sounds the best way to go. Please keep us informed.

A few of the main differences I've noticed are:

-Single fuel tank.

-Second set of engine mounts welded to a 280 chassis.

- Lower ratio diff

-Shorter propshaft?

-No glove box cover

Can't think if anything else at the moment but I'm sure there's more.
No glover box cover is not one I have heard off before on a Tas 200 most of the other things are similar on my car. Thanks for posting up the info.

Andy, owned mine for 25 years... slightly modified now.
The extra chassis tubes and mounts are the same on mine but it does have a glove box cover and 2 petrol tanks. Not noticed many other differences to a 280 other than the obvious ones like exhaust, cooling, fuel supply etc.
Cheers Steve
Hi Steve

Thanks for the info, ref the fuel supply my car has a single tank with obviously all the fittings on the one tank, what about yours?

Cheers

Hi Steve

Again thanks for that info, your car was obviously a late Tas 200. I know you have re-engined it, but before you did the fuel lines at the Carb end, did you have a return fuel line to the tanks if so can you remember were it went to on the tanks?
