Hi, another wedge up on the bay, is it a known car? Have seen it on there a couple of times now? Is there a story to the car?

Cheers in advance

Stuart

Submarine alright haha

Thanks for the link. I think £1,500 is about the limit for that car seeing as it's going to need a full restoration.

I hear you Ziga,

Personally, I would have the chassis done then the bodywork repainted then the interior. With this particular car it would stay green but maybe not that shade with a nice interior to complement the body colour. I would also want to look at the engine to see if it can be improved.

My idea would be to have a car that looks great and goes like stink, I'm not interested in having a show pony that doesn't get driven, for me, that's not what owning a TVR is about.

Hopefully one day I'll get my hands on one :-)

Have contacted the owner, apparently when it sold last time in November on the bay the winning bidder never got in contact with the seller so it's back up for sale.

The seller reckons it's worth the 3.5k it went for last time, says it's worth 2.5k in parts and the wheels alone are worth 1k.

So, I will keep an eye on the auction and see where things stand when the item is due to expire.

Hmmm, doesn't seem right to me. Has 'sold' now twice on the bay but hasn't actually sold and is now relisted for 4.5k. Apart from smelling something fishy, I do t think the car is worth anywhere near that in its current state...

Yeah, needs chassis work plus paint and new interior. I'd say possibly 10k worth of work. IMHO the seller is dreaming at 4.5k

In all seriousness, what's the general sense of opinion on what it (or a 400SE in similar state of disrepair) is worth???

Thanks Tony, there are a couple of pics of the chassis in the ad but not enough to get any idea really. I didn't know that chassis work could be done without a body lift...

Yeah, I saw that it had been removed. I still see something fishy with this, it sold in NOV 2016 for 3.5k and the winner never contacted the seller. It sold again for 3.7k on Friday evening. Then went back up as a classified ad on Saturday morning for 4.5k. I messaged the seller and he stated he thought it was worth 3.5k, I think the general consensus is that the car in that state was not worth 3.5k. So why has it not passed hands?? Maybe the new owner will show up on here soon enough...
