Bloody loosing my rag with the wedge.

The trip to Le Mans was superb. the wedge was certainly the centre of attention on more than one occasion... But.....

The Drivers side Headlight motor packed up on the Queyside on the way over, the passenger side linkage came off the pod sometime whilst in france ( this was noticed when the pod tried to escape from its hole at 140+mph and almost ripped itself out of the appeture.)
Both Pods are now Gaffa Taped shut. In addition, the nice wood on my dashboard has started to crack due to the high temperatures over the last 2 weeks, my radiator has sprung a small leak and the bonnet strutt has just decided to snap itself loose from the bonnet, tearing a large lump of fibreglass out of the bonnet with it. Thing is, work is so busy, I donot have the time to even look at it

What I need is to pay someone who has the time and patience to sort out the problems, finish off the boot carpet and other bits like the water leak, the interiour carpet, the facia, the heater controls .... AAARGHHHHHHHH

The way my job is at the moment, if I thought it could work, I'd set myself up as a mobile Wedge mechanic...

I'd volunteer to sort out your car FOC, Jason, but as you're about 5 hours from me I don't think it would be that feasible...

OOO is that a serious offer ? 5 hours drive would be awsome .. roof down, stationary on my M1 enjoying the sun ... Loverly !

Was in Peterborough & Bradford on Saturday (working overtime cos there is no one else that can do what I do at present), so i was quite close.

Hmm actually contemplating getting a cerbie and leaving the wedge fold. Thing is, cerbie ownership is scaring me even more.

Bugger !

(1)Probably not terminal...
(2)Still got the linkage? Or did it fall off altogether?
(3)Is it really wood? Probably just Fablon-type of thing with polyester lacquer over it
(4)You sure it's the rad? Last leak I had was from the small hose at the top O/S of the rad... looked like the rad but wasn't
(5)Is this because you have a ram of too-high a gas pressure on? Should be 100 Newtons: a lot of them are 200+, which stresses the GRP when the bonnet's closed
(6)Hmmm... I don't like trimming, sorry...
(7)Where from?
(8)See (6)...
(9)What's wrong with that then? But see (6)...
(10)Bloody TVR rubbish.... :bah:

So, to sum up.... you're a moaning git who needs to drive his TVR more often and closely scrutinise the decor a bit less*. Wait till you see my 390 @, then you'll know the meaning of 'rough sex'
Ian

Thanks for those words Ian. Just will point out,, point number 5.. The ram is the origional one as part of the pair that were fitted when it was new.
I have not had any need to replace these, inless they have been replaced inadvertantly.

As for being a moaning git ... yes, your right, but I pay a premium to keep the bloody thing running, and for that premium, I expect the damn thing not to fall apart (more has gone wrong in the last 2 months, than in the last 6 years).

Well, I may as well join the list of moaners...
went out for a hurtle tonight and returned to find front offside side/ indicator lens missing, along with the bulbs That must have been some piece of debris
Also, I'm rapidly gaining the opinion that my car is maybe not as fast as it ought to be (in terms of top speed, not acceleration).... I can feel a rolling road seesion coming on... :insertpoundsignsmiley:

Ian

Why not find a rolling road in the midlands somewhere ?
how a =bout a Wedge rolling road shootout ?
Few camcorders to capture the footage, I could knock out some professional style vids, make a day of it.... say a saturday.. find someone who would do a group booking.

Van aken developments in Bracknell do it with the max power boys, and the ferrari lads.
Anyone interested?
Would be a good day out

Well, I did some bodged repairs to my wedge so I can get it to the garage tomorrow to have the most serious problems looked at, then I put it back in the garage, and reached for the keys of my faithful Nissan.

Then I stopped, turned around, got the wedge out of the garage, put the roof down, and drove to work. It rattles, lots of things don't work, but you know what, I've just remembered why I bought it in the first place!

This is true.

OO lots of capitals..
Done worry, I was having a bad day.
