Greetings again
Well, figured I can't drive her until I get my bits next week so I started pulling her apart again

Anyways, me being stubborn and wanting to keep her original window channels decided to pull drivers side apart. I haven't been able to wind the windows down ever as they fall into the doors and get lost!

Ripped off the gaffa tape that's been keeping things together for a while (year or so). Urgh, worse than I remember. One side and corner fallen off and remains lying at bottom of door. Other side missing 6" off bottom. Top got lots of holes in but basically sound.

Anyways, I'm really quite pleased with my efforts now, smug grin on Have welded remaining part of one side onto where it once was, chopped a bit off the bottom of the other side and used it to replace one corner. Just needs a bit of tidying up and holes filling with something and it'll be quite good I thinks It even fits perfectly. All the bit above top of door level should look good. It shouldn't matter as much what I use for replacing the bottom of the two sides as you can't see them. Bet that makes no sense does it? C'est la vie. Would have got piccies but my diggie camera is really cheap and has no flash.

Ahhhh, don't know why I'm finding this so satisfying but I am so there, easily pleased Bet it doesn't even sound very exciting! Oh well, gives me an excuse for a pint

bye for now.........

Thanks Jeff
Not checked 'em yet, they haven't made it back onto+into the doors yet. Rain stopped play, doesn't mix with MIG well Got to find some more channel to replace the missing bits at the bottom of them inside the doors first. Then need prepping and painting........and ideally I'd do something to fix the door hinges as they've dropped a bit and the frame hits the B-pillar.

cheers

Ahhh, that rings a bell, may well have been you mentioning it many months ago. Hmmm, I just may know some people with Sierras. (from kit car days, was primary donor for my last car)

Yup, motivation still there, it departs every now and again but seems to return! But given she's taxed, MOT'd+insured I should stop fixing and start driving!

cheers
Dave
