Does anyone know what the vertical cylinder below numbers 50 and 49 is and it's purpose ?

Number7 it's definitely not the same part as the one you have pictured - there is only one connection from the fuel tank

Maybe later cars were changed? My swirl pot connects directly to the 2 tank outlets. Plus in that manual, there does not seem to be a breather from the swirl pot. Don't you just love the variations in manufacture!
