Late Summer Run #5 30th September

Hello

Here are the preliminary details of this year's Late Summer Run
The date of the run is Sunday 30th of September

There is a slight change to the route this year. The morning leg will still finish at High Lodge in Thetford Forest, but afternoon tea will be at Lanwades Park in Kentford

And as usual lots of great driving roads in between covering Cambridge, Suffolk and Norfolk.

There will be two start points, one in Cambridge and one in Norwich. Each group will drive to the meet up point for lunch with another run afterwards.

Lunch stop will be at High Lodge in Thetford Forest http://www.forestry.gov.uk/highlodge
There is a car parking charge of £1.90 per hour per car, they take cash and card.

You can either bring a picnic or eat in the cafe

We should be at High Lodge at about midday if anyone wishes to join us there.


After lunch we'll split in to groups and drive cross country to Lanwades Park near Newmarket http://www.lanwadespark.co.uk/index.html. They have a nice little cafe with homemade tea and cakes and you can take a walk around the grounds if you want. Lanwades Park is part of the Animal Health Trust where they do research into veterinary medicine. As such they are lots of horses about so please make sure you don't rev your engine when arriving or leaving. I have spoken to them and they are looking forward to having us and have asked if they could do a photo shoot with all the cars lined up outside the house





Oh and everybody is welcome no matter what you drive (as long as you can safely keep up).

Well until I get my car fixed, I'm going to be the slowest car. It currently doesn't rev over 4000rpm. Fingers crossed I'll fix it.

As the numbers are getting larger I would be nice if we could split into smaller groups of say 10. If somebody would like to lead a group it would be much appreciated. It's not hard. If you have a co-pilot I can give you full instructions or if you have a TomTom or Garmin sat nav I can send you the itinerary files of the route.
