All,

I'll be going to County Hall, Martineau Lane later on this week and trying to google somewhere decent to park, which is close by but not coming up with much.

Any ideas / recommendations?

Cheers

Steve

Thanks gents,

I'm actually there for a job interview, so always feels a little tricky in asking for a parking permit as well! biggrin

I am hoping to get there a little before, go for a coffee and get settled etc, hence the looking for something close by.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks all, due to the M25 being its usual busy self, didn't get there with a huge amount of time to spare, so tried the Rouen Road site, which was fairly busy and ended up blagging a parking spot at County Hall.

Cheers

Thanks very much.

We regularly visit the north coast and broads, and love the area. I'm also mad as a box of crazy frogs, so should fit in well, by the sounds of things.

We're looking for a change of pace from the crazy south east, so again Norfolk should fit the bill!

Well that's been a bit of a busy two days!

Just had a full asking price offer on our house as well from cash buyers this morning, so looks like a full steam ahead move to Norfolk.

We're thinking of a move to rented for 6 months whilst we look for something to purchase, just to take some of the stress and pressure out of things.

Any recommendations or areas or villages to consider or to particularly avoid for renting / buying? We're ideally looking for somewhere semi-rural, good walking close by (two large dogs that need a lot of walks) and probably max of 45 minute drive.

Holt looks nice as does some of the northern coastal towns?

Cheers

Steve

Will you be based in County Hall?

Traffic around Norwich can be a bit of a pain in rush-hour so try and pick somewhere that's both suitable and easy on the commute
Or live within easy reach of the Park and Ride places.
Yes, based at County Hall. My current commute is only 14 miles but takes a good 40/45 minutes at the moment.

The job is going to be a contracted car user, so I'll need to have mine on site I'd imagine. The thought of a park and ride does give me the heebie jeebies as well if I'm honest. biggrin

Congratulations on the new job.

We moved here from near Tring 12 years ago now and it was the best thing we ever did.

We ended up buying a place in Overstrand near Cromer so we're by the sea but just 40 minutes from Norwich by car.

We've got 3 dogs and there's plenty of places to walk them
Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have a look.

Top lurking as well!
