Took my Morris 'Bullnose' in to garage around the corner and asked them to set up the ignition timing following a mag' conversion to electronic from the old points and condensor. They decided after an hour of fiddling about the job was beyond them. Mechanics my arse!!

So booked it in at where I should have took it in first place - Schole Engineering. Yeah bring it round will soon sort that they said.
Now thats a garage service. It seems that the guys will tackle and repair just about any age/type/simple/complex/out of ordinary car you may care to mention.

Not related in any way but having used the services before with my Griff and been delighted with the work done its worth a mention.

There are no timing marks on the flywheel of this old girl, so its down to plonking a stick onto the top of the No 1 piston to get TDC , then the new electronic stuff has to have the magnet adjusted to suit. Something to do with the advance/retard larky. But really should'nt have been a problem for mechanics IMO. + they called my car medival but not in a humourous tone if you get my meaning. Still no matter, they lose all of my business which includes 3 other cars and a transit van.

Ah yes John I certainly recognised the silver beastie sitting there awaiting the hands of 'Vince'. If you collect tomorrow you may see my old 'Bullnose, thats an open top too but the similarity ends there for sure (0 - 50 maybe with a following wind)

PS I HAVE BOOKED hELMINGHAM SO SEE YOU ALL THERE.

Hi david I past Scole today saw the back end of your beauty sticking out of the workshop. Hope to see the whole thing soon.

Hi Steve, would that be my wife you refer too she will kill me for that jibe.

As usual the guys at scole did a fantastic job on the old girl, starts 'on the button' and runs beautifully. All for a very fair price too. Whilst I was there I noticed a nice looking Ferrari sat outside the showroom next door. The mechanical noise on starting up was somewhat off putting tho (not that I was thinking of purchase) as the salespeople moved the car.
