Don't do it rob. You'll be disappointed.
It's taken me 8 years and over £60k to get here and I still enjoy my Clio more in terms of all out grin.
Subarus are an amazing tool that will get you from a to b at an almost in unfathomable rate. But the driving experience will be numb in comparison to your R26R.
My Clio has steering feel by the bucket load, something no Impreza I've ever driven has come close to. You could drive mine, but its so far removed from the average Impreza it's kinda irrelevant. The spec c is the best of the oem bunch which is a great drive and hugely capable. But the chassis doesn't give you that hard wired in feel that the Meg R offers.

Go drive one before you sell the Meg...
Then drive the Meg home and realise how good it actually is. wink

Lol, nickname it got a few years back from my mates. It's pretty angry looking on the road and it consumes fuel at a hideous rate when you open the taps. They all called it The Bomber as a bit of a pi55 take and it kinda stuck.

What would that take it up to? Over 500bhp?
Over 570bhp actually. Here's a run with 576bhp, that's over 460hp @ the wheels

Nothing much happening here with the car.

Although I have done a few odd jobs recently,

Firstly I've been meaning to drill some holes into my wheel arch liner behind the oil cooler just to aid the cooler working. The oil temps are not an issue and never have been. But with the recent spate of hot weather I decided it wasn't a bad shout.

Also managed to trace a slight knock that I found last week to a slightly lose ARB link bolt.

Then I found what I thought was an oil leak from my rocker covers, tinyest trace of oil and I oil noticed it when cleaning underneath. Turns out the breather pipes that were tight when i fitted them, (so tight i didnt use clamps) have swollen and were giving the illusion of a rocker cover leak. I've put some clamps on them now but will be renewing the breather lines now anyway.

Lastly I had a Defi EGT thermocouple go down, ages ago and wasn't prepared to spend the £140 odd quid Defi wanted on a replacement. I took a punt on an eBay thermocouple only to find that although it worked, was clearly over reading.
So did some research and found a company in the US who make sensors. They managed to supply me a new thermocouple for around $50.
Finally fitted today and all is well again.

Also treated myself to some new Alpinestars gloves, my old OMPs were dead. Lol

Made up a template tonight for a cooling shroud that completely deletes the bonnet catch.
The carbon one has annoyed me for ages because of this.

Should look alright when cut properly, folded and coated in a matte black.

Had the car up on stands as the wheels were getting the Michelins put on.
Naturally the new Volks got clayed, polished and waxed.
Glad I did as they came up pretty nice. smile

While she was up on stands I decided to drop the arch liners and give her a good scrub. Dropped the discs off to clean them up too. The front calipers are getting an overhaul this winter and the rear Brembos are getting sold.

However a mishap with the pressure washer meant I managed to rip some paint clean off my front fog cover. rolleyes

With that done I figured they would need re painting anyway so decided to redesign the intake ducts up front for something a bit more aggressive.

So the covers have had the chop and will get all new designed ducts grafted in.
You'll see they have been cut inline with the flutes on the Prodrive covers.

To be continued....

A bit more work stripping the car of gauges.

All the Defis are now sold and so are the steering column mounted wideband and act.
The dash will be all coming out for a refresh soon anyway so wasn't bothered about the mess. Lol

All out and tied up.

Thanks to Tim @ JTi for the superb service and the replacement Toucan and sensor that will be going in.

Fitted new sensors for the Toucan and run the cables into the cabin. However I need to wire them into the Syvecs.
In that note, I fancy changing the dash around again this winter. So decided I may aswell just take it out as it easier to get to everything and make everything neater.
Going to have a serious cable cul before it goes back in. I hate that it's all so damn messy behind there.

Made up a little sub loom to run the Toucan from using an ISO connector. It has everything you need, 12v live, Ign live, ground and illumination.
Put it on Deans plugs as it's always nice and easy to unplug if I need to. Not wired in my sensors yet, but all cables have been run. Great to get the Toucan powered up though, it's such a smart little unit. I don't know why I've left it this long to get one. smile
