Where can I view the HS1 railway?
Discussion
Does anyone know where I can see the HS1 railway going through countryside? Ideally I need to be able to see it from about a mile away, with the train going at full speed (ie. not near a station).
I want to have an idea of how loud the HS2 will be from a mile away once it's costructed.

I mountain bike by it quite a but. pilgrims way pretty much behind the Shell garage on the downside of Blue Bell Hill is where it enters and exits the tunnel through the downs.
It comes out at the bottom of the woods that are behind Buckmore park, there is a road that runs along side for a short distance then a gravel path that runs along side before turning back to road pretty much to the Medway bridge.
Another good place would be Hythe jct 11 of the M20. It's well fast as it passes there
Awesome thanks, Pilgrims Way near Thurnham and Broad Street looks perfect - will check it out this evening. Do you know how often the trains go past there by any chance? It comes out at the bottom of the woods that are behind Buckmore park, there is a road that runs along side for a short distance then a gravel path that runs along side before turning back to road pretty much to the Medway bridge.
