Hello all,

Broadmoor alarm has been going off for the last couple of days which is unusual for a Tuesday / Wednesday and has quite thrown my week as I keep thinking it's Monday!!!!!

Anyhow officially it's a tech fault but anyone know any different?

If they turn the old Broadmoor buildings into a hotel I wonder if they'll have themed escape nights and a bit of siren action for authenticity.
Going to focus more on murder mystery, 20 year stays .
I'd deff be up for a spooky night there! it's just been pure luck that the government hasn't paid for me to give it a trial (see what I did there ;-) ) run!

Seriously; 6 years is the average stay and that figure is hugely skewed by the very few 30 year long timers. I always thought it was a prison but it's more of a holding cage, assessment centre for the criminally insane. As I said but for the grace of God ;-)

anything you can share?
He had his head put through a glass pane a few years ago whilst trying to restrain a patient. He was punched in the stomach so hard that he pissed blood.

He was working when Peter Sutcliff stabbed a patient with a pen, I seem to recall he stabbed him in the neck for some reason.

Lots of other stories but it would give the news of the screws a field day!
I understand what you are saying.

Just deleted an interesting tale. One only to be told in person and recounted second hand.

All NHS staff (I'm guessing this means private staff too) can't say a word about the scum, erm patients, they deal with.

I work in a "challenging area" and dispare for this world

eek

On the plus side they make me look great ! biggrin

although my spelling....... oops :- DESPAIR!

There are 10 sirens
1 in Bagshot (opposite The Cricketers)
2 in Bracknell (one at the station and one just off the IDR)
1 in Camberley (on top of the Main Square car park - you can't see it but you can certainly hear it!)
3 in Crowthorne (one at the station, one at the TRL and one at Broadmoor itself)
2 in Sandhurst (one at the Comprehensive school and one on a hill near the station)
1 in Wokingham (at a school on the A329 on the Bracknell side of the town).
This is an interesting read (I thought so anyway).

Thanks for that link, very interesting. Although why I've just listened (at 4 am on a Sunday morning)to a siren I can clearly hear each Monday morning I don't know.............

Yes every Monday 10 am and the two tone all clear about 3-5 mins later, I've never timed it.

I quite like it, a bit of consistency in an otherwise crazy world! tongue out
