Well, I've now been to Stovell's twice and must say it is the best restaurant I've been to in the UK.

Attentive, great food, all the 'extras' you expect from a top eatery and for £38 for 23 courses.

So, as I like a meal out, where is better?

Been to London House, good but not as good. Drakes is £68 for their cheapest menu, might go there next.

All ideas welcome, ideally not the other end of the country.

Bread, crisps, pallet cleanser

Prawn starter

Quail starter

Rabbit main

Apricot dessert

Not finished off with a Louis XII brandy

Well, we went to London House this week, was nice but still Stovell's for me wins it.

Where can we try that will be better?

Apologies for not catching the photos before starting to eat!

Was back at Stovell's this week, the chef was on Saturday Kitchen last week.

Again great food, sensibly priced.

Great night out.

Went to the anchor in Ripley last night, I believe it is run by someone from Drakes.

Food was great, came to a fairly pricey £85 for the pair of us, not much alcohol consumed and shared a dessert.

Posh Sausage and Beans!

Veg tart

Fillet Steak

Strawberry & Lime Cheesecake

Will be going back

OK a new one tried yesterday..... Tante Marie in Woking town centre.

Food was great, a bit empty, but attentive service and lovely house wine too.

Scallops to start were fantastic, good roast beef main and impressive splat of cheesecake to finish.

One to go back to certainly.
