Hi all,

Just wondering if there are many PH members from the Oxfordshire area on here?

I live in the Cotswolds.

EDIT - Details below for a car meet in Bicester on Sunday 1st February at 10:00AM:

"Just to confirm this Sundays meet is still on - just in case you missed them in my previous post here are the details:

"Meet at the "Brewers Fayre" pub (pretty st pub but good location and large car park) in Bicester between 10:00-10:30 AM ish on 1st feb. It has a large car park at the back of the pub and is located next to the Premier inn hotel so lets meet there.

Please see details/address below:

"Oxford Road
Bicester,
Oxfordshire
OX26 1BT"

https://www.brewersfayre.co.uk/pub-restaurant/Oxfo...

This will be a meet at the above location (difficulty was in getting restaurants booked without deposits so this is a meet only now) - good opportunity to get together and meet new people and... of course looks at some nice cars!

See you Sunday."

Cheers,
Dom

Encouraging to see a number of replies from other local members.

Might look to organise an Oxfordshire PH members meet early 2015 if you guys would be interested? hopefully some more members might come out of the woodwork. Pub meet or track day could be good.. Just a thought anyway.

MSE do trackdays at Abingdingdong on a Friday, maybe that plus a curry in the evening?
Sounds like a great idea. Do they run trackdays most Fridays or only on the specific listed trackday dates on MSE website?

South Oxford here, but work in Oxford.

Maff's house looks like as good a place to meet as any, what a collection wink

I've heard the Abingdon track isn't that great. Either an early morning or evening weekend run out can be fun, I've organised a few in the past, there are some great roads to choose from in the area.
This is another potential idea and sounds good to me!

Be good to get an idea of everyone's availability soon so that we can work out numbers and organise something for early 2015.

Given that we are all slightly spread out across Oxfordshire and neighbouring areas it makes sense as suggested above that we all meet at a Central Oxfordshire location or maybe even just past Oxford in Bicester area?

We could meet in Bicester have a drive through the back roads towards Woodstock, Charlbury, Shipton under wychwood then out to Stow on the wold and stop for coffee/lunch at: http://www.thefeatherednestinn.co.uk/cotswolds-res... decent size car park and good food and drink at this place. Then we could head to Moreton in marsh, chipping camden for a further drive if people fancy it? then finish at a personal favourite of mine:

http://www.themountinn.co.uk/

So...

1. Si_xsi - Golf GTI - pref for 1st Feb.
2. Mountaincourse - BMW 120d - 1st feb 2015.

Happy Christmas all!

Hi all,

Full details of this meet will be posted within the next day or so. I'm also awaiting a response from a pub with regards to availability on the 1st feb 2015 - the pub is a good choice decent food and a car park to cater for up to 150 cars.

Is everyone up for eating? Might be worth sending me a PM just to confirm but I'll base it roughly on current numbers a sensible suggestion may be around 20 people.

Cheers,
Dom

Hi guys,

Having an issue finding a decent pub with enough parking that doesn't require deposits for lunch bookings of around 20+ people..I was aiming for this place (large car park, excellent food and availability for 20+ table) but as I say they require deposits etc so could be a pain:

Does anyone have any suggestions? or any suitable options?

With regards to the actual meet I propose we meet at the "Brewers Fayre" pub (pretty st pub but good location and large car park) in Bicester between 10:00-10:30 AM ish on 1st feb. It has a large car park at the back of the pub and is located next to the Premier inn hotel.

Please see details/address below:

Hi all,

Firstly thank you to all that turned up for this meet it was a fantastic day - apologies to the few that got "diverted" by sat nav to a road that wouldn't look out of place in a lord of the rings scene on the way to lunch....!

Really good to meet other petrol heads, have a good drive and some food together.

Took a few pics but apologies in advanced for not doing the awesome cars justice (bloody cold hands and too busy chatting cars with everyone!)...

Thanks,
Dom.

Thanks again Dom for organising, not too bothered about losing you guys in convoy as I was taking it pretty due to this message nagging me.

Just noticed how dusty the dash is, might not be able to wait until spring to get it cleaned afterall.
No worries Alex - great to you meet you.. When your car says 6.3l v8 in the dash you know your car game is strong smile
