Good luck Jack.
To be honest although they are a quick car most of the time you won't drive it to its maximum. When you do starting going quick there is a little voice in your head that reminds you of the lack of air bags and such safety features, although fibreglass can absorb a little in crash. On the plus side and the positives are high. You will get a lot of attention wherever you go. And the community is an amazing place for technical info and social stuff. Low speeds are a lot of fun is they pop and crackle like fireworks night !! Don't be put off by higher mileage cars they are well looked after. Engine rebuilds are always a good thing and check the condition of the outriggers.
The TVR Berkshire meet is every third Tuesday in Bracknell.
