I need to visit Windsor soon and am looking for good places to eat. Grills and Italian always go down well.

Any suggestions please guys?

Are you aware of Trip Advisor?
Yep. And the recommendations of PHers have almost always proved more useful.

Last time we were there we went to a French place (I think) just up from Pizza Express. It was on a hill and big on wines. Can anyone tell me what it is from that description?

Guys

Just got back from Windsor and ate at several of the places suggested - all were excellent. Thank you for taking the time to make recommendations.

So which is best. I'm quite local but never bothered to go out for a meal in Windsor.
I must say Bel and the Dragon was exceptional.

I booked Gilbeys but managed to book the wrong date. Which was probably just as well because it was empty save for a big party. We ate at Fishcraft opposite which was fairly good food-wise but with a lively atmosphere.
