Just a word of warning, I recently had 2 new tyres on my van at a 'tyre specialist' in Guildford who I won't name here ( pm me if you want to know). The very helpful guy in the garage told me to order online when I make the appointment and it would be cheaper.
Just had first mot done on van and had to change them again as they are an mot failure ( not commercial). The company have admitted that although they knew they were the wrong ones they fitted them anyway as I ordered them online and it was my responsibility to order the correct ones!
Tell that to the judge when I have a blowout on the motorway🚑

Totally agree, I have got the ceo's email from a website, just waiting to calm down before I mail them!

I ordered the tyres via the companies own website and made an appointment for them to be fitted. The website asked for size, radius, speed etc so I ordered the same as was on the original but it didn't ask for type of vehicle. I didn't realise that there was a difference between normal tyres and commercial. They failed not as they were not commercial, ie wrong tyres for vehicle

I think it's a ply rating but I could be wrong, I'm going down the road that if I had a blowout and they knowingly fitting the wrong tyre they would be responsible regardless of the t's and c's on their website. Just to be clear I'm not after compensation but an apology would be nice. A bit worried if companies are fitting tyres knowing they are incorrect. Thanks for the recommendations I'll take that on board when I need more.

I'm not a tyre specialist but the main dealer was going to fail the MOT as they are not commercial tyres even though they have approx 7mm of tread

Website didn't allow for a c to be inserted or reg/type of vehicle. I assumed the company would advise if they were wrong tyres, they're the experts after all!
