Venue: Botley Hill Farm PH, Warlingham, Surrey CR6 9QH. Pub is situated at the top of Titsey Hill, in between Oxted, Woldingham and Warlingham, just south of Croydon along the Limpsfield Road. Nearest Motorway J6 M25.

Time: 09:00 to 13:00, Saturday 7th March.

Space: 70 parking spaces allocated to us.

The Landlord has kindly agreed to do a Saturday morning as at this time of year it gets dark very early. The Pub is a lovely place and the landlord is welcoming to us. The Pub generally opens up at 11:00am for coffee and bacon rolls (and everything else) but if there is enough interest he may open a bit earlier for us (hopefully). To my knowledge nothing PH shaped ever happens around here so lets try to make it a good one! On arrival, can everybody park up as near to the entrance as possible in the bays and keep the drive to the pub clear for emergency access and staff who arive to cook us the bacon!!!! The pub serves very good food so if you want to pre-book lunch give them a ring before hand. Good beer too.

I am hoping to get a handful of real special local cars to attend, i know where they are, i just need to pursuade..... F40, DB5, De Lorean,

Please be careful when you pull back out of the pub onto the main road, as it is not obvious there is an entrance there, and people do overtake at that spot so look both ways!!!

See you there, please only add you name if you are 99% sure of attending as space limited.

1 - 70

Great response guys. Had an idea, am going to limit this to 70 not 80 cars as the biggest/ widest/ most expensive cars can be parked up in 2 bays each so that people do not clamber over them. Roughly 10 cars should have a bit more space, will decide as the first arrive.

Alright chaps, there will be limited parking available for the staff and "regular" cars, so if you do not have what can loosely be termed a sportscar, then you do not have to post up! Want to try to get 70 sports / rally / classic / sports saloons and homologation cars together, everone else welcome to come along and park next to us.

Just got back from skiing and checked the attendence list. MEGA, thanks for the support and lets hope the weather is better than now....

I cracked up reading the two posts which got the date wrong! DOH.

You are lucky to have survived Titsey hill in the ice, that is one of the most dangerous hills i know. Hope to see you next time!

Probobly safe to run the list to 80 cars, allowing for a few that might not turn up and a few extras on the day.

Superb. Nearly made the 80.

What we are going to have to do is, due to the limited spaces, allocate 80 spaces and then check who is arriving. I will make a list on the morning of the 7th based on this thread, and ask people on arrival who they are. I do not want an extra 50 people turning up if the weather is nice, causing chaos! I will hold everybody on the list a parking space until about 09.30, then i cannot stop peolpe turning up and parking. Please do not be offended if before 09.30 people who are not on the list are turned away from the reserved parking areas. There is is no overspill at this venue, and you cannot park on the road for a couple of hundred yards.

Gonna be great!

There is no car snobbery here, if you are happy that your car is a classic / sports / of interest to others then that is fine!

If this meet goes well and the landlord is fine on the day, then i will look to do another in the summer BUT with a little run attatched to it. I will have a word with the main man, MR Jaykabi, about possibly putting a little route together. Maybe meet at the Botley for bacon rolls then a sunday drive to a pub for lunch.

Went to the venue yesterday, what we will do is allocate the spaces, coned off. HOPEFULLY the larger cars like the Ultimas and Ferraris will have a double bay each so that people are not climbing over them. There will be a bit of public parking, if that fills up then they will have to park a couple of hundred yards away in the road. As i said, if your name is not on the list, before 9.30 you will NOT be able to park in the allocated spaces, its not fair on those who are on the list. Likewise, if you cannot make it, please post ASAP so that somebody else can. I will be there from about 08.15.

Tally Ho!

Yep, no speedbumps. Where are you coming from?

If anyone is approaching from Croydon way, it is a straight road with no speedbumps from Sanderstead roundabout / South Croydon on the Limpsfield Road.

If you come from Jct. 6 M25, the fastest way is through the lanes of Woldingham to the Limpsfield Road.
OR you can go up the Caterham Bypass from Jct6 to the big white roundabout and turn right up Succombs Hill. Succombs hill is steep and narrow though, and i would not fancy piloting a Scuderia up there!
OR you could take the A25 from jct.6 towards Oxted, turning left at the second set of lights and go through Limpsfield High Street straight up Titsey Hill. This has i think 1 speedbump in the litlle high street but it is not too bad. It is one of those which is about 10' long, more of a raised section of road than a hump.

If you are coming from Westerham A25 then you can either go past the big Grasshopper Pub (on your right) to the first set of lights, turn right onto said Limpsfield High Street above.
OR turn right at Westerham after the Zebra crossing and go via the lanes south of Tatsfield. No speed bumps that way as far as I know either.

Nut nut, someone has been adding names to old posts, so number 6 on the last post is up for grabs (Mrs. RS6 no longer going) stick your name on quick, and we will limit it at 81 with the Mosler!

IF ANYONE CHANGES A NAME PLEASE CAN THEY USE THE MOST RECENT LIST TO DO IT ON! Otherwise there may be total meltdown on the list!

Not sure if this has happened before, so could everybody down please check they are on the last list posted and let me know if there is any discrepancy. If anybody who cannot make it posts up early then chances are all the current reserves may get in.

  • What i am going to do it print off the final list the night before, so when everbody arrives please have your PH name and list number ready to give me. I hate having to do this, but if too many / unlisted people turn up then chaos will ensue and we will lose the venue for what hopefully will be a MEGA meet! If your name is not down and your car does not match the list, then you will not be allowed in to park up. Visitors ect. may have to park up in the lane a couple of hundred yards away, it depends on what spaces we have left at 09.30 (when i will stop being a little Hitler on the gate and get down to some serious car perving!) ;-)
P.S. Think i have secured a lovely DeLorean and maybe another real rare sportscar to pore over (thanks Jamie!)

  • *PLEASE READ*****
One week to go....

Re: Parking.

Spoken to the landlord, and we cannot afford to cause havoc as you would imagine.... Fire access to the Pub and Staff parking needs to be allowed for, as there is only 100 spaces in total.

So, 80 cars are listed, please post up ASAP if you cannot make it so somebody else can.
There is also 3 more cars coming with me including the DeLorean.

ON ARRIVAL 08.30 to 09.30 PLEASE have your PH name and list number for us to tick off. I will print off the night before, IF YOU ARE NOT ON THIS LIST YOU CANNOT COME IN! My 7year old Daughter Ella has the last say, she is like her mother, you will NOT win an argument with her! Say "Hello Ella" and she might give you a better space :-) Sorry, but there will be havoc if we do not stick to this. We will do our best to give the larger cars the largest spaces, but first come first served. At 9.30 the car park will be CLOSED off apart from access for staff (latecomers excepted). This is so that people can walk around safely without cars driving through the crowds, very dangerous. We will double park a few cars to utilize the space available, If you car is one of these, please can you clearly display your mobile phone number in your windscreen?? This will allow the cars to be moved will minimum fuss.

PARKING OUTSDE THE VENUE-

As stated, there is not a lot of parking outside. Limpsfield Road is a rural lane, but quite wide. Cars (not low ones) MAY be able to bump up on the verge a bit, not sure. There is a lay-by 50yds away opposite which could hold about 10 cars with two wheels up on the kerb. There is a small car park for the Titsey Estate on the roundabout 100yds away which will hold another 10 cars. Thgen there is the road which leads to Westerham off that same roundabout. A few yards down it goes very wide so i am sure LOTs of cars could park down there if necessary quite safely. PLEASE do not attempt to come into the main car park if you are not on the list.

They are the only rules! Lets all hope for good weather and a good turnout. At a rough guess there are well over £2,000,000 of cars attending, so should be a great spectacle.
