Tour of facilites of the well known motorsport team who currently run as Team RAC in the BTCC and who used to run in F3, including drivers such as Ayrton Senna.

Hi all,

I've had a reply back from WSR and they seem happy to do a factory tour again. (I was actually expecting a no!)

The bad news is it will have to start relatively early in the evening, at about 5:30pm. This is due to the staff members having to do the tour in their own time and obviously they don't want to hang around the factory all night. It will probably finish by about 7:30pm.

They have suggested one evening during the week between the 22nd and 27th June.

If you could all let me know when would be best and I'll try and work out which day we can do it on. (If someone can make a table, I'd be grateful, they tend to go a bit wrong when I do them! )

If any mods are reading, It would be good to put it up as a sticky now too so it doesn't get lost!

They might be able to make it very slightly later, (Ideally not) but it needs to be around this time as they are doing it for us in their own time and they don't want to have to hang around for ages waiting for us!

Well it's looking like Tuesday is going to be the only day that everyone can do, but I'll wait a bit longer until everyone has replied.

The wiki is supposed to be the main list so that'll be fine.

I've not heard back from them since my email on Monday so I will send another saying we would like to book Tuesday 23rd June as the date.

I noticed that Tuscan Al has put down that he can't do Tuesday only Wednesday so I may change to that as it seems to fit with (just about) everyone else. (Kinky, I notice you're down as Tuesday only now, instead of any, is that just because I said we were going Tuesday or can you genuinely only do Tuesday? If not then I will stick with Tuesday as it was the day I said originally.) Once this is decided there won't be any further changes to the date unless WSR tell me they have to move the day for operational reasons. (This happened last time so it is a possibility.)

Anyone that hasn't confirmed yet it would be good if you could do so soon so I can get back to them with definate numbers.

They have confirmed the cost is £5, and there will be nibbles supplied. (Last time this was tea/coffee and biscuits.)

It's a while off yet but I will need to collect the money before we go.

I need to collect the money too. I know it's a long way off but I don't want to get to June and not have most of the money. I'm sure I'll be at some events between then and now, plus I can meet people at local pubs etc. I may be coming along on wednesday, assuming I can get some stuff I need to sort done in time to get there.

No it's not too late. Add it to the Wiki that Kinky made. I'd rather not use Paypal if possible as it gets complicated with the charges. I'm about to email the team again actually as I never got a response to my last email, although they have been out testing so they may not have had chance.

Thought I'd give this a bit of a bump seeing as its already only just over two months away. I've been in contact with WSR to check all is okay and they are happy with arrangements, so I need to collect money from all those who I haven't managed to yet. (Most of you!) I've been a bit useless at getting along to meets but I will try hard to make some between now and June. If not and you are local I can call round to collect or I can arrange a bank transfer.

Sorry didn't mean that to come across quite how it did, I was just worried that everyone had lost interest and I'd have to explain to WSR that we weren't coming after all! Unfortunately now the racing season is underway I don't generally have many spare weekends to make Honns etc, but I will try to make it along to one or more of the pub meets.

I wasn't going, but I will see if I can pop along for 5 minutes maybe. It would be really helpful if there is anyone local to me Bracknell/Ascot/suningdale/Crowthorne etc) that wouldn't mind collecting the money and I could then pop round and collect the money.

Apologies again for not making it to any events but the photography is taking up so much of my time these days, if I'm not at a Circuit (Or elsewhere!) taking photos, I'm trying to sort them out to send to people!
