Those who have been watching the below thread will know that I have been meaning to add this to the SAS calendar for a while
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The monstrosity is getting close to finished, and the pyromanic in me can't wait to empty 3 big bags of charcoal and a bottle of lighter gel into it biggrin

The first SAS BBQ of the year (and inaugural fire up of "the beast") will be at our place on Saturday 18th April starting at 3pm, and going until the food is eaten and booze drunk. We are in Ascot, and I'll email around the address/ map/ directions/ phone number once we know who is coming.

The 18th is the weekend after the IOM trip, and weekend before Chatsworth, so hopefully there are no event clashes, and being a 3pm start Ben/ Alex/ Nigel/ Andy may actually be rid of their hangover from the night before, and ready to start again hehe.

Partners, Families, Kids, Alcoholics all welcome and we will have food to cover most eventualities (including pregant ladies and vegetarians - you know who you are wink ) And don't worry, Vicki will be doing the full menu planning, so it won't just the Fraser special 'salad free' range of sausages and Guinness laugh

Bring yourselves, something to drink, and any speciality food if you feel the need to display your culinary skills to the rest of the SAS crew. There is a big kiwi gas bbq as well, so we will have plenty of cooking space.

So we can plan for the numbers, please add your name to the below list which I have started with those who helped the BBQ build happen in the first place (I hope you can all make it!), and keep your fingers crossed for sunshine.

Cheers
Fraser and Vicki beer

1. Motown Junk
2. Tvrjock
3. VerySideways
4. SVTRick (I checked, and Quins are playing away on the Friday night wink )

Looks awesome! Bring meat and beer?
Definitely bring beer, or whatever you want to drink.

As for food, the plan so far is to have Rotisserie Chicken, Rotisserie Pork, Burgers, 'Normal' Sausages, a Vege BBQ pretend meat looking product, Vegetable Kebabs, and probably something else Vicki will hopefully think of depending on numbers smile , plus Salads, Baked Potatoes, etc.

If you can think of something different or out of the ordinary, then feel free to bring it so we can try it (be it bbq food/ side dish/ snacks/ dessert, or whatever).

If you have any allergies or particular/peculiar food preferences, then bring something to suit as we obviously won't know.

What shall I bring? Beer? Ice Cream? Cakes?

I'm trying to avoid having to keep track of what everyone is bringing hehe

The 3rd post on this thread has what we are having so far. If that doesn't float your boat, but someone brings their favourite 'Chicken Breasts in Red Wine Marinade wink ', someone else finds that deer and brings some venison, and the dessert fiends decide they really want Chocolate Cake or Ice Cream and bring that, then we will have more choice for everyone.

There will be no predjudice held against anyone if they don't want to bring anything and just eat what is here, especially since some have supplied loads of materials/ have helped build the BBQ in the first place!.

Not drinking on the other hand will not be tolerated without a damn good excuse (ie: Karen smile ) hehe

Thanks for the help offers eveyone! I'm just back from a weekend away and going to have a sort out tonight of food plans, and things that need done.
A few have asked what food to bring, so I will update the list of what we are having so far.

I have the expert kiwi bbq help of Pernod and Mrs Pernod (my brother and sister-in-law) who know a thing or 2 about bbq rotisseries, and also will be helping set up in the morning for the mass SAS arrival. I will shout if I am stuck with anything though smile

Also I will send out an email tonight with address, parking, etc.
I think I have everyones email somewhere, but if you haven't heard by the morning PM me.

If the weather is like today, we could all be in for a long night hehe

BBQ is Saturday 18th April starting at 3pm (with food about 5) - email will be sent to all later tonight, pm me if I don't have your email (I think only MartinD/ OilyRagMan)

Bring yourselves and something to drink, plus any speciality food if you feel the need to display your culinary skills to the rest of the SAS crew. There is a big kiwi gas bbq as well, so we will have plenty of cooking space.

Food we are organising:

Vege Quorn sausages or burgers
Vegetable Kebabs
Salad/ burger fillings

Salad couscous/ Pasta with Roasted Veg (LilCat)

Some cakes hopefully (LilCat)
Soft drinks for adults/ kids
Crisps (NWVT)

Things listed in this thread from others (no pressure if you have changed your mind or forgotten):

Foil-wrapped chocolate bananas - verysideways
Malibu for Bananas? - Sods Law
Moose milk cocktail ingredients - tuscan_al
Funnel hehe - zhead
Big stick to fight off unwanted attendees biggrin - Revs Addiction
Garden Chairs have been offered a couple of times, but I think we have a solution without anyone needing to drive them over.

Things we still need:
More Crisps/ Snacks
Another dessert?
Plastic or Paper plates/ cutlery/ glasses/ pints - Unless anyone has some of these already kicking about their house??
If you can think of something that you would want to see at a BBQ but it's not listed above, then please feel free to add it to the thread so we know, and bring it along (be it bbq food/ side dish/ snacks/ dessert, or whatever).

As mentioned before...
1: If you have any allergies or particular/peculiar food preferences, then bring something to suit as we obviously won't know.
2: There will be no predjudice held against anyone if they don't want to bring anything and just eat what is here, especially since some have supplied loads of materials/ have helped build the BBQ in the first place!.
3: Not drinking on the other hand will not be tolerated without a damn good excuse (ie: Karen wink and Nick) hehe
