Ginettas Classic racing
Discussion
this saturday 15th at silverstone there is a large HSCC meeting.
If you wana see classic Ginettas on the track, this is a good meet.
In the historic roadsports there will be 3 Ginetta G4s running, and Dave Randall with a chance of outright win again.
The Guards Trophy has the Dodd Ginetta G16, which has also been winning outright this season...over the Chevrons etc
I'll hopefully be there will take some pics

hmm, i think its more of a definite NO unfortunately
the heritage events were organised by Spadge and even in in the first year where a whole series was promised, i think only 2 races happened.
Now there is no mention of any more Heritage races and especially unlikely since he has now left GH
Best bet is Hscc for classic Ginettas or SRGT & Semsec for newer/Dare

hscc races are 20mins.
cscc are all 40mins with compulsory pit/driver change
the main prob with cscc is the regs are very loose (which can be a good or bad thing!)
The G4s do really well (and often win) in HSCC as the cars all have to adhere to the strict regs regarding engine/box and chassis mods.
As my car is v original i want to keep it that way, and so HSCC is the better option for me. The engine has to be kept pretty much at 1500cc, no LSD allowed etc
-to be competitive/win in the CSCC races, G4 may be better off with twin-can, IRS, LSD, which adds to the costs
races in the cscc work out near to double the cost of hscc (but they are double the length ofcourse)

it clashes with prescott weekend
Ive seen period pics of G12s tearing around the crystal palace track
i think it re-opened last year for the first time since its closure. Should be fun in the G4
