Focus RS MK2 owners feedback
Discussion
Evening all.. Had a drive of a mk2 RS yesterday and mighty impressed. House purchase meant I had to sell my old cars and currently running an e92 320d at the moment but bored to tears!! Am i right in thinking these seem to average around 22-28mpg depending on type of driving and obviously the old right foot?? just need to know what the fuel economy is like as this will be used daily for commuting to work etc.
Im looking for a straight standard car preferably white with black wheels. Had some insurance quotes that are coming out less than my BMW which is surprising!
Anything major to look out for? I gather the intake plenums where prone to going bang on modified cars?

Have you seen the one at Western Ford Newcastle? White with black alloys, standard, low miles, can probably knock him down to 20-21k as I've been watching the car for about a month now with interest and seems to be still available....

Viewed it and drove it yesterday but not for me. http://www.westernnewcastle.co.uk/ford/car-details...
You will be disappointed to hear its getting black wheels on Tuesday then haha. Well first impressions after a couple of days it's fab, feels much quicker than figures suggest once rolling. Handles very well and doesn't really feel a heavy car when you push it quite nimble really. Fuel stuck £40 in yesterday which the computer seemed to think would give me over 200 miles so not too bad for the performance.

Do your homework on that
I've fitted a mongoose on one & wasn't impressed by either the noise or the fit
The miltek system fits perfectly & doesn't drone (full system though not cat back)
The bcs system is also very good
Hmmm thinking I need to hear some in the flesh as the mongoose seems to get great reviews, around 84db is that about right for a cat back? I've fitted a mongoose on one & wasn't impressed by either the noise or the fit

Well an update on my original thread, still love the car its got such a split personality..through the week for work it allows you to cruise about in comfort then come my days off an absolute riot. Mongoose cat backs been added along with getting the wheels done in gloss black. Bluefin is being ordered this friday for a bit more poke!!
On a twisty b road the cars really at home, its been a long time since I've owned a car where the standard suspension setup is supple enough to handle our bumpy twisties. If I'm very careful I can get around 24mpg around town but I'm afraid I like hearing the warble of the 5 pot too much so its nearer 20mpg. Best hot hatch I've driven as an all rounder..if your toying with buying do it!!
