I am interested in one of these and appreciate the petrol is faster in every way but I cannot ignore the price and mpg of the diesel.

Autoebid are advertising these cars new for early 2015 delivery.

Focus ST 2.0 petrol list £24190 save £2364 price £21826 154 mph 6.5 0-60 urban 32.1 comb 41.5 extra urban 49.6 mpg

Focus ST 2.0 Diesel list £24195 save £5521 price £18674 135 mph 8.1 0-60 urban 56.5 comb 67.3 extra urban 74.3 mpg

Both these cars look exactly the same and the only way you can visually tell from outside the car and probably inside the car if its a petrol or Diesel is lifting the bonnet.

What would you buy !!!

The prices I quoted were both for the ST-2 + Navigation. The discount for both cars are even more than I stated as the price is after Autoebid have taken their £500 commission and these prices are the maximun you would pay which is about 23% discount and may get it even cheaper.

The way Autoebid works is they know Ford dealers that will give this price and then contact all the dealers so in effect it is a reverse auction and the dealers bid lower to get the deal,

I am surprised that there is a much better discount for the diesel as I would have thought a lot of company car drivers would go for it and overall be the better seller.

These days you cannot drive anywhere near the top speeds and I will go for the diesel as it will still be quite rapid, cheaper to tax and whatever however you drive it will get 25 more mph.

I E-mailed Autoebid to say are the prices they have quoted on their website correct and see that the price has now changed for the Ford Focus ST-2 Diesel plus Nav to a saving of 3350 and price to pay 20845.

So time for a re think as the diesel is about 300 cheaper than the petrol.

When I contacted Autoebid to querie the prices they said for me to look tomorrow and they will be correct.

I see that they have the Saloon ST2 plus Nav at 20845 but strangely the Estate at 19522 and I would have thought the Estate should be 1000-1500 more than the saloon.

If these prices are the same tomorrow I will order a Estate ST2 plus Nav and if they tell me the price is wrong use their E-mail they sent today where they confirmed the correct prices will be on the website tomorrow.Photo the prices on the website and see how I stand legally.

If I have to pay a different price.pay it and get the difference back from the small claims court.
