which ford fiesta ?

Hi folks just looking for some advice on which would be the best ford fiesta in terms of best engine and any faults to look out for.

looking for a small car just for short journeys and have close to settled on the ford fiesta. Are any of the engines particularly better than the others or is the diesel engine a better bet than the petrol ? Wouldnt be doing a whole lot of motorways and the likes so not against the smaller engine versions.
Don't really know anything about the fiestas and so would appreciate any advice. Looking for one maybe 2 years old.
