I would just like to put my thoughts down and see if any one agrees:
Before christmas I had just joined the motorway and was getting up to speed, Car lost power regained power for a split second the cut out. It will not restart.
I got recovered home and this is the first weekend i had a chance to look at it. I had heard stories that would most likly be snapped belt or chain but i suspect fuel pump. Here is ths steps i have done to come to that conclusion
1 removed cambelt top cover put a dab of paint on it - it rotates
2 Forscan shows no errors related to timing
3 Forscan show no pressure in fuel rail
4. My next though thought was chain, but on the off chance i squirted some easy start in the intake and for a split second it fired. Now i beleive the cam chaft runs the exhaust cam and the chain drives the intake. If that is the case then the chain is fine, and the fact it fired up to me says its getting no fuel.
5. it runs on easy start ( very lumpy and loads oif east start smelling white smoke are the arse)
Forscan also showed compression in cylinders
So do you agree fuel pump?
