Hi all

Now firstly I should say; no, I've not nicked a radio hehe

I have a 1998 S Ford Focus 1.6 and it has the bog stnadard tape player radio thingy in it.

A friend replaced the clutch during the week and (I don't udnerstand why) disconnected the battery. As such my radio is now asking for a code to be put into it.

So, I go to the pack that I got with the car; old receipts etc, and there is the radio code; 8314.

So, I type that into the radio all as it says and it still doesn't work. I tried it again and again to make sure (you get 10 goes) but definitely doesn't work.

So, I don't quite know what to do next?! Anyone have any ideas? My journey to work this morning was ludicrously silent with no Chris Moyles frown

Thanks world

PS: I really HAVEN'T nicked a radio, honest!!

Hi Jon,

I certainly could supply the serial number of the radio (this evening when I get home) - would that enable you to get the code would it?

When I type in the code (buttons 1 thru 4) and then hit 5 to enter it, it briefly goes blank (<1second) and then adds another count to the code-count-ometer and remains flashing "CODE" waiting for me to enter the correct one.

You're an absolute gentleman; thanks Jon!

Ok tonight I will take it out tonight and record the serial number; I'll reply here tonight.

Thanks again, very much appreciated
