Hmm - the car looks to be good value - but I would have to change the split BBS wheels (well tbh I think thats what they are). Don't get me wrong - great wheels - but they just don't seem to suit the Griff! Anyway it's all very subjective - but I love Griff's anyway. I would just put another set on it.

Rubbish ad !
Says it's an auto, then below says manual but 3400cc ?
No under bonnet (or, as mentioned under car) pictures, no mention of chassis condition or repairs, inprovements/upgrades (shocks, poly bushes etc.), service history, the list goes on....
To me it looks like a run of the mill standard ad you'd expect for a four year old Fiesta, not the way a knowledgeable seller would describe an enthusiasts car.
(all imho).

Mate Chatsworth 2013 can't wait see you there!its hard to believe people struggle to sell this cars when people will pay shed loads for Kit Car like thee Cobra that can drive so poorly and Ferrari put put that are event more crap! Its true that some Kits are stunning in quality and performance but there are also a shed load that are Pup that are making lots of money.

To the officiando I'm sure that's the case.
But not all cars are bought by officianados though- some are bought by ignorami like me, and the first thing I see are a set of cross spokes which don't fill the rim properly and have massively high sidewall tyres.
If I was selling it then I'd consider purchasing another set of wheels to see if it sells quicker - then selling the cross spokes for a grand!

I think it's probably better you don't buy a TVR.But not all cars are bought by officianados though- some are bought by ignorami like me, and the first thing I see are a set of cross spokes which don't fill the rim properly and have massively high sidewall tyres.

I've rarely read such tripe.
HA HA HA HA HA!
I'm giving you honest feedback on why this car would not be the car for me, for the record I'm watching the market for a suitable TVR, have cash waiting with a budget of around £10-12k for when the right car comes along.
The garage space has been cleared...
I think its best that you dont post on an open public interent forum in case someone writes something that doesnt exactly mirror your own thoughts and opinions.

Maybe it's part-ex with a company that doesn't normally do TVRs?
I'm no expert, but I wasn't aware of an automatic version ever being produced by the factory and it looks like a normal 'stick shift' in the photos. Perhaps someone who normally sells Volvo estates is flogging this for a mate and has got his facts mixed up.
Could be a bit of a bargain if he's just seen the price of later, larger engined models and decided an older, smaller capacity 430 must be less valuable. That or he just got 4300 and 3400 the wrong way round...
I agree the advert isn't great, but that doesn't mean it's hiding anything necessarily.

This garage is about 100m from my house.
While I haven't seen the car in question there yet, they are certainly not TVR specialists - although funnily enough I remember them having a couple of Cerb's in 2004...
They do have a lot of sports cars, although seem to be more of the usual Porsche Boxster, BMW Z4, Nissan Z variety - rather than "specialist" cars...
HTH,

Hi Folks,
I went for look, the usual top-side (OK ish), but chassis needs a lot of work (RUSTY!!). The clutch was very heavy, hence I consider that it would need replacing. An offer to the dealer of say £5k then the car might be worth a punt, but it did sound good when running.
The car is stored in their underground car park.
