OK, a few of us are looking at upgrading our wheels. and I though this would be a good place so that everyone could see what thoughts are, prices and the like. Mine Sag has Jade R alloys, but I may be putting them up for sale to help fund some new wheels and rubber...

Here are some pictures from Brooklands, showing a few styles.

This is a Lexus wheel, 19", and looked like an updated spider when on the move.

What else are out there, how many people are thinking about changing their wheels, and does anyone have any pearls of wisdom to drop in? And by that, I don't mean 'keep it the same' or anything 'useful' like that.... biggrin

Factorypilots new wheels

Lasersags Rota wheels - They are Rota Grid Drifts all round, finished in what they call Matt Bronze (believe it or not).

8.5 x 18 front, 9.5 x 18 rear, with 255/35/18 (std size) tyres all round.

Offsets are 44 at the front and 30 at the rear if memory serves me correct. No rubbing or other issues noted, and fitted using std TVR wheel nuts. Thinking of getting some for the Tuscan now....

I got them from this guy if anyone is interested.... www.performancealloys.com ask for Tony. I ordered them on the Friday, and they arrived on Monday. Top service.

Crimbos photoshop (I LOVE these)
XXR 530's

XXR 527's

And of course my Jade-Rs

What else is out there? How many people would be looking for a change? Dean, I agree the original motorshow Sag wheels are stunning.

Just been having a look through the Wolfrace site... There are a few others, but IMHO these are the best.

An interesting email from TSW...
Thanks for your enquiry. Fitments for this vehicle have to be pretty specific from what I can make out. The o.e. data I have says the wheels are 8.5x18 all round et42 front and et35 rear.

Basing a fitment on that information we could potentially do the following wheels but these may require a spacer to get to the correct offsets. Unfortunately it may mean having to extend your wheel studs.

Interlagos - 8.5x18 et45
Max - 8.5x18 either et30 or et40.
Nurburgring - 8.5x18 et45
Panorama - 8.5x18 et45

I have to say I'm not that thrilled about a spacer, or the extended studs... The Interlargos though I really like the look of. It looks like a cross between a modern spider and the original Sag wheels.

I think I may follow up about the potential of these wheels, especially as the official importers are Yokohama, and therefore the tyres would be in the right place as well...

I have to say from an aesthetics pint of view, I really don't like the multiple holes in the centre - just the lug holes will do me fine!

They are the same as mine (slightly different from the Power wheels). I could take one of the Sags wheels off and put in to the Tamora for you? biggrin

I swap the 18's between the Sag and the Tamora, so it should be OK? (Caveat - I'm not the most technical on here... wink ).

I'll keep an eye out for you - I'm round the Farnham area of Hants though.

Against all we know, I honestly think that the Sag rides better on the Jade-Rs - the steering is much more direct, and it just feels better. We think it's down to the weight of the wheel making the suspension (and steering box) work harder.

The downsides are it accelerates a lot slower (noticeably), poor choice in tyres and that's about it.

Pics of the SP12 here....
