This was by far my best race on Sunday and the ruddy timing equipment threw a paddy. The terminal speeds are correct as is the win margin by Simon in Bootlegger. I had a bad start at least 3 tenths slower reaction time. So this run should have been a new PL of 10.8 something.

Paul. I do have the record for fastest terminal at the 1/8th. Catching you up in my little Rover ha

Please can somebody do a suitable PhotoShop of a Chim-based Funny Car that could do a sub-8 second ET ?

Shame about the timing glitch Derek, we know you can do it really wink
Keep on whittling away man.
I enjoy following your exploits on here. thumbup

PS Perhaps the green wig upset the timing beams?
Thanks for the support. I have extrapolated this run was actually quite possibly almost certainly a 10.8 smile

Sub 8 might be a while away. I do have a cunning plan to break the 9s tho wink

see the big difference in the reaction time. Even the commentator says so. The difference at the finish line was 0.6071 seconds so add that to Simons 10.5819 give me a time of 11.189 if we set off together. Lets say my reaction time was 4 tenths slower then this would have given me a new PB of 10.789 @ 128.95
Typical luck, rare the timings get messed up.

pah - you need a Cerbera. Speed verified by a road angel speed detector
think you have a decimal point missing there.

Hold my hands up to most Cerbs for top speed tho.

I do have a 3.08 diff now and the theory is 179 with a 150 shot of gas so no slouch. Would be worried about losing the roof.... again

I had a look at that clip, impossible to see the reaction on the lights, all I could see was white smoke!!!!!!!!
The fact that Simon was 2 car lengths ahead within 100 feet should tell you i got a real bad start.
It was definately a 10, many agree with me that it could have been in the 10.7's

Who knows, maybe this run beat Brummmies best time whistle

I think i have you worried... 'ooh Derek little 4.6 is going to take my number 1 spot on the 1/4 mile table, what am i going to do? Better get an even bigger engine asap. Maybe 8 litres will be enough'

Dereck why have you not put a sequential in your car yet?It would wipe off a few more 10ths this should add some food for thought................

Don't go for mine in the video , consider going for a Drenth much cheaper and can be found second hand quite easily
Derek btw. smile
Would love a sequential. Are they 6 speed? What sort of ball park figure we talking? Easy enough to fit behind the RV8 and in the Chim?

What are these sequential boxes like day to day? I use my Chim as normal most of the time. Go on cruises, car meets, take it to the shops now and then...
