I don't think so Lotus have had delusional management for the last 10 or so years. Dreams of mixing it with Ferrari and Lamborghini when they were just a bigger TVR. I mean what sane car company announces 5 new cars to be built in the future at one time?
They couldn't have destroyed the market for their own cars more effectively if all Elises on the road all spontaneously self combusted at the same time.
My guess would be that the only thing that's kept them going has been the consultancy work with massive over bloat and over capacity for outdated cars that haven't had proper focus because of the misguided ambition (arrogance)
I'm surprised it's taken so long frankly.
