I currently run a T350 with an Omex ECU.
The mapping of the ECU is far from perfect and I'm looking to get it on a rolling road to sort out the niggles.

Have any of you any recommendations for dyno tuners with experience of OMEX and TVR.

I live in the Edinburgh area but am willing to travel if the service is worth it.

cheers

Thanks all for the replies.

I've found a tuner local to me in Dalgety Bay, Fife called HQ garages.
I was round there this afternoon and was suitable impressed by their rolling road and attitude. They do a mix of cars including a lot of high HP Jap stuff and WRC rally cars. They've worked on TVR's aswell. Russell Paton the tuner has a lot of experience with a number of ECU's including Omex and MBE. After describing the issues he seems confident it can be sorted quickly. Only time will tell on that one. I'm willing to give them a go for an initial hour or two on the dyno. If things don't work out I'll be giving Joolz a call down in Chesterfield.

It's on an Omex as that's what's on the car. Installed by a previous owner. After the bigger injectors and idle control I'm not sure where the benefit is compared to the standard MBE.

I'll give some feedback for Scottish TVR owners once things progress.

Ah, was it done by RND by any chance ?
Racing green. Back in the mists of time. It was their first omex instalation.

Knock detect, is the big one, can put timing in or out depending how good fuel is
not easy for after market ECU, as different engines have different harmonics at and just before pre ignition

add to that the noises from a speed 6 and your looking at a lot of mapping, unless you done a few before and have a good base to start from, hence your first one could take a week then after a few you could be down to a couple of hours
Am not sure the omex installation racing green did had knock detection

AFAIK the ECU supports it but it wasn't ever "plumbed in". It's not on my car anyway.
No, it was never plumbed in. Along with a number of other functions that the ECU can control, such as sequential injection.
A bit of a half hearted attempt by RG when they introduced these I think.

Eventually got the T350 on the dyno at HQ Garages, Dalgety Bay, Fife.

A positive experience. Russ was meticulous about strapping the car down. Talked me through the diagnostics every step of the way and solved the issue with the map. If other owners need any dyno time in the area give them a go.

They're also at the NEC Autosport show Thursday to Sunday this week.

Spitfire4v8 - the guys are pretty good there, thanks for the confirmation.

The map issues where poor idle control, and a very sensitive throttle at low openings. The throttle stop was adjusted and the map smoothed to achieve a better idle.
The second issue was dropping revs when coasting to a standstill sometime to the extent of stalling. This was traced to voltage variation at low revs. There's a table in the ECU software to smooth the voltage out. All seems to be working now.
