Hullavington airfield to be sold for building

Who's up for a last hoorar! on the 11th March? I've booked two slots cool

Extract from Motor Sport Events email:

After 15 years of track days at the wonderful Hullavington Airfield we are having to say goodbye, but not before one final weekend of track days. Hullavington will be a huge loss to us and has hosted many amazing events for thousands of guests but now the MOD have sold the site for development. We are ending our time there with a double header on Friday 11th March and Saturday 12th March. We are sure these events will sell out in record time so please do book as soon as you have checked your diary!

• Friday 11th March Hullavington £109 Final Friday event at one of our favorites.

sad news indeed but not unexpected. This track inspired me into proper track driving and this venue was my first taste of track driving. Hamish you might remember all of us trying to deliberately spin our cars on a TVR only handling day run by MSE. If I remember correctly you were the best at it on the day but our friend "Phazed" on here still practicing that element 10 years later LOL biggrin
Yeah i remember well...i also remember disappearing backwards into a cornfield on one of those.
Hullavington was the scene of my very first trackday as well, and the first time i met Guillotine..after that it was just the slippery slope of the addict lol evil

I'm gonna put this one in the diary and hope for good weather……...
I had always avoided wet track days as every accident i've ever had has been in the wet frown but i turned up to Hullavington one time and it was proper monsoon weather with big roosters come off the cars brave enough to go out in it...my kit was soaked, i was soaked and i hadnt been on track in ages, so i thought sod it i'll coast around just to say i'd done it...turned out to be one of the best, and most fun trackdays i have ever done. I don't think the car was pointing in a straight line the entire lap i even came out the last chicane power slid the entire straight down to the hairpin..trying to scrub speed off at the end was fun with the car squirming around under me trying its best to switch ends....the joy of air fields...no armco to hit cool

Only two days to go! smile

anyone know what the weather is going to be like?, I cant make up my mind whether to put the T1R's on just in case or leave the Tripple 8's on and hope for good weather

Listen, don't mention the shoes. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it all right.

After getting lost on the runway in the fog at 8am, it was a relief to see peter's camper looming out of the fog smile..I just knew it would turn into a great day it did.
Thanks to everyone for making it such good day out

No balls, totally clean looking?
Mine too...checked Chloe's fronts on the Audi expecting them to be pretty bad judging by the continuous smell of cooked brakes all day long and the didn't look as if she'd even been on track.

Must have been the surface being different to race tracks. My new front tyres were screaming on every long fast corner, and particularly the 180 at the end of each lap, though trail braking into the corners did help a bit. Were your new tyres protesting?
I struggled to get heat into my tyres, despite a rear wing I power drifted out of the 180 every time
