Best air filter and hose solution for a Griff

Hi everyone

Next question on the rebuild thanks again for all of your help with the many other questions! Body is back on the chassis but the engine is bare.

So I need to change the old air intake, I am only going to change up to the air flow meter (standard) though maybe change the elbow to the plenum with a new silicone hose as well. I really do not like the existing hood arrangement over the panel filter, mine always slips.

Therefore I am looking at getting new silicone hoses and a mushroom filter (or 2) in the same space seems a better solution? What are peoples views suggestions. Also any suggestions for suppliers, Hose and Filter?

Lastly is there a way to make the existing hood, better more secure?

The engine is basically standard Griff 500 1999, I am not looking at performance gains out of this though if they do come then happy days just want to know that I am getting clean / filtered air into the engine!

As you can see I have an open mind just want to get a better solution and ditch the worn out existing solution. The only thing is I do not want to make any significant or dramatic mods where the current arrangement sits as if / when I sell, it can be turned back to original again.

Sold on act did a rough calculation to buy the bits needed and would save less than £20 so not worth the effort, thanks for replies not sure on filter may /will still change to a cylinder type in the same place to avoid the issue of the hood slipping from over the filter element
