I would like to install a trigger wheel in order to move to Megajolt this winter.
But I struggle to undersatnd where to install the wheel on the damper/pulley serpentine unit.
Does it get sandwiched between the vibration damper and the pulley?
--> This means shifting the belt outwards by the thickness of the wheel.
Does it go in place of the skirt on the timing cover side?
--> Which means machining of the skirt and attach the wheel with extra nuts.

What's the collective wisdom here?

I did run a search but couldn't find any definite answer and pictures of final assembly.
I don't have any balancing weight wedged in the skirt as well.
Regards
Philippe

So, there are two possibilities:
- If belt alignment allows it, the trigger wheel can be sandwiched between pulley and vibration damper.
- If not, trigger wheel can be installed between damper and skirt.
The later solution is a bit more obscure to me since I was under the impression that the skirt was welded to the damper inner ring. But apparently not!

Unfortunately, my engine is now dismantled and I can't verify the belt alignment.
It will have to be done upon re-assembly.

Pistonheads as useful as ever!
Cheers guys.
