Hi
So trev is now back on the road and all going well after the chassis refurb
The only issue I seem to have is that when I switch on the heater fan inside the car the gauges in the car water oil fuel all shift to the right, the volts drop to the left . This is a bit disconcerting but I know that the water temp is fine as the fans kick in at the right temp 87-93c etc It did not do this before the refurb.
The main issue that has caught me out though is fuel as it looks as though you have ¼ of tank when you have nothing but fumes. My current thinking is that the earth is not as good as it was possibly paint in the thread from the refurb so that when I switch the fans which is a significant draw compared the gauges means that they are being skewed?
I would guess that they are earthed by one of the 2 bolts that are next to the gear lever underneath the centre console such as it is? That is where all of the dash earth connection are.
Any other thoughts suggestion confirmation to work through would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance Alex
PS it is a Griffith 500 1999

Hi eveyone thanks for replies sorry for late post, all sorted I think yes one of the 2 earth points was loose even though the bolt was tight made worse as the washer it was against had glue / carpet fibres on so actually surprised it earthed at all, need to take trev out to be 100% but there is no change with the ignition on and the fans working right not!

It was just a bit of a pia as had to slacken the handbrake cable to get the cover off and I chose the wrong rear wheel to take off, hey ho

Thanks Alex
