Hello,

I normally fill up my car with Optimax (as I am sure you all do). However, since the nearest Shell is 10 miles away I sometimes have to make do with a small amount of 97 RON to get me to the Optimax pump.

Since returning from le Mans last Monday I have been unable to find anywhere that has 97RON. They ALL seem to be out and have been for a week.

Has anyone else found this?

I had to put 20 quids worth of 95RON today - nasty - as the Optimax fountain was dry too.

What is happening?

Strange,

One week and counting - perhaps Bedford has some sort of prohibition?

Makes you angry when in France you can buy BP 98RON and BP in the UK only has 97. Why?

BB - I don't mind that run out to Ampthill - it gives filling up more of a purpose. That road is nice too (allowing for the blatant scameras). I love that little tunnel and often pass under it at about 7am (those couple of houses must know all about it).

BP in Bedford had some Super in today - but it ran out very quickly. It seems to be still dry.

Fortunately Optimax is back on tap.

Prices are crazy:

97RON at BP 86.9p

98.6RON at Shell (Optimax) - 81.9p

So, the better petrol is cheaper. Quite bizarre.

Thanks Lee,

I cannot make it tonight (sorry for not replying to your other thread) as I am going fishing! I'll certainly make the next one.
