Hi

Hope you don't mind me dipping into your forum
a TVR wedge owner at the moment, but keen on owning a GT6
Looking for something that will need some work, ideally interior bodywork providing it's not too bad.
I'm about to start spending money on my TVR. Respray etc, and can't decide whether to go ahead or sell and put some towards a GT6.. If there is anyone selling one or knows someone please let me know.

Cheers

Rik

Rik,
As well as here, try the dedicated Triumph sites, TSSC, Club Triumph and Sideways Technologies (Triumph based, but does anything)
JOhn

If he doesn't have something he'd probably point you in the right direction.
Thanks James.. smile

At the moment it is awaiting paint so that would reduce the cost if we didn't get that done, depends how much you were looking to spend.
Well there's a coincidence , I'm on the verge of havin my TVR resprayed, and can't decide whether the sell it as is, and put money towards a GT6 or not..

There seems to be a big difference in price on the GT6s

I'm gonna be on lowere end of that and to be fair, sounds like you may have spent a few quid that you will rightly want back on the sale.

It has had a fair amount sunk into it to get rid of all rust and help it survive to rally a lot longer. Have a Quattro for sale too.... The fleet is shrinking in readiness for relocation
Wow.. Quattro what a car!
If I change from my TVR it would be either GT6 or Stag, more likely GT6
Just Finding one that's cheap enough, with the the kinda work needed that i can do, like interior maybe some bodywork depending.........I know it will be like trying to find a piece of Hay in a giant stack of needles! Ha

Been out in the GT6 tonight, I have fitted Gaz gold shocks so been getting them setup. Its driving lovely very different to to the TVR but both great cars. Its not a fast car by todays standards but can keep up.
The GT6 car gets a lot of attention and not many about.but that can be said for your TVR
Yeah the TVR gets that kind of attention and a do love Roaring along it being a v8
I has a 67 BGT before I got this, and that was painfully slow..
I'm thinking the GT6 is gonna sit nicely between the two,
60s style and a bit quicker than the BGT...

Plus I feel I can get my round an older car, mechanically

I used to have all the sports 6 cars and a stag before moving on to a TVR S (think 3 litre spit)... But loved the Gt6 - was a mk3. Fun to drive. If you go Stag, then think Chimaera - TVR joke - comfy nice sound but no real sporty driving, more a golfers car wink

Mk3 probably the cheapest and nice look, although mk2 was the iconic "thinking mans e-type", but more expensive.

Have fun looking...
Thanks mate... It's a tricky one finding one that's for sure, at a low price, I missed out on one last week,
Problem is the wedge I've got, could do with a bit more work to get it lookin better, but I'd rather spend that on the GT6
Rock and a hard place springs to mind!

Yeah that's a beauty, I really do want one, they are are looking too expensive at the moment, I don't think I'll get enough for my TVR... I have about £1500 plus what I get for my TVR, so there is a chance if a mini project comes up.

I love all the marks... I think 2 is my fave filled by 1 then 3, but I'd have any.
I did have a very good condition 67 MGBGT
Fitted a full new interior full magnolia leather.
But if I'm honest The GT6 has the Edge on that.

Thanks for the info and pic... I'll just go off depressed wishing I had one ;-)

Thanks for this Tom, I don't think I will be able to afford a good one at the moment,
Ideally I want something solid, that would need interior restoring,
And maybe a bit if bodywork,
I did a 67 MGBGT up, from an interior point of view, and some exterior.
I did it all myself so it meant I ended up with something work quite a bit more than I spent.
Yeah I would really appreciate it if you sent me a link to any RHD that come up over your way,
It may not be feasible but it would be interesting.

You can email me on rikslingsby@icloud.com

Thanks again Tom
