Renault trafic tracking

Around 3 months ago my Trafic failed its mot on all the front ball joints. That was particularly annoying as I had only changed them the previous year and 3.5k miles previously. When changing the track rod ends I measured the threads and backed off the nuts one full turn. This was replicated in reverse when fitting the replacements.
The mot was then passed without issue but the steering seemed a bit lazy and we noticed some tire squeal on corners. I noticed last sat that the front tyres were wearing on the insides. I borrowed the kit and checked the tracking. It was only running about 1.5 deg toe out. I tracked it spot on parallel and the difference is remarkable.

Is 1.5 degrees of toe out really that big a deal ?.
