Pedal box novice questions

Couple of questions about pedal boxes, the type that Demon Tweeks well, where three pedals are assembled in a self contained rig.

Firstly, these boxes don't appear to work with any sort of extra "assistance", ie vacuum assistance in the case of production cars. So do competitions cars have any sort of braking assistance?

Can they be easily fitted to a production car without having to reconfigure or weld anything? Ie can they just be bolted in? It looks like the master cylinders potrude out the back and will need to have the bulkhead cut?

Thanks. What about the power assistance? Do universal pedal boxes use power assistance and if so, from where?

Agreed that for a production car they are probably more hassle than worth. I'm just exploring options to a problem.
