Not very PH I know - but Ka Front Suspension Question

Evening.

A quick one if I may. A friend at work has just replaced his rear springs and realised one of the fronts has gone too. Looking under his bonnet and both strut tops look like this... looks wrong to me. Is it possible/likely the rubber bush under the mount has perished? Thing is another Ka in the office is exactly the same and she's just been through an MOT.

Thanks. Just wanted to let him know if he needed to have a set of the bushes to hand when he does the springs that's all.
