MOT brake testing...and car weight
Discussion
Had a car tested today, the efficiency of the rears was JUST enough but.....the tester said the car was rated as weighing just over 2 tonne...
its a skoda superb greenline hatch and NO way does it weigh that, in fact 1.5kg is a tad high, so...
if he had entered 1.5kg I assume the % would be higher? he couldnt find a kerbside weight for it...

10 seconds on google shows that the gross weight is around 2 tonne, the kerb weight is just over 1500kg. Not sure if there any restrictions as to where the MOT guy is supposed to get his info from though.
not sure which figure they use.... they seemed shocked at 2tonne....id assume their DVLA link would tell themCan they test brakes against a theoretical MAM? (as it is now)
