finger prints etc on silver paint

Does anyone know why silver paint in particular shows up horrible hazy finger prints etc?
been looking at a few cars but the 2010 bmw ive just looked at, which was freshly valeted had some nasty marks appearing when sat out in the sun all day.

Seems to be in other hand creams etc too, i had a 2001 silver vw passat which suffered badly.
