I want to treat my new car to the latest Gtechniq sealant and wondered if I will have to clay the car first or just use the Gtechniq panel cleaner, anyone know?

Sorry but "the latest" Gtechniq sealant is for professional use only !!

You will not be able to buy it in the first place.
I'm considering EXO V2 and C1 crystal lacquer and the C5 for the wheels, on the Ultimate Finish site it mentions nothing about 'professional use', I will contact them directly. I've used Nanolex previously and was not blown away, but wondered if claying and sealing before treatment is not the way to go with the new sealants?

OK . I apologise .The latest coating from Gtechniq is Crystal Serum and seems to be head and shoulders above all other sealants but is available only to the pro's.

With C1 you need to make sure the paint is as clean as possible which does mean de-ironising/de-tarring and then claying if needed followed by an IPA wipedown or the panel wipe
Ta, sounds like a lot of work, might leave it to a pro!

Iplod, that looks like a lot of work but the results are fantastic. Did you go from clay/panel cleaner straight to C1? Is it worth buying C5 for the wheels or should I just apply C1 on them?

It's far better to listen to the pro .
Therein lies the problem John, I'm a bit old school and worry about not sealing the paint after using a clay bar, but looking at Iplods efforts convinces me that straight to C1 after a panel wipe would be ok. Tempted to enquire about Crystal Serum though, hearing great things but does anyone know what it would cost for a professional job?

It's a SQ5 Paddy, my wife's car and we're picking it up tomorrow. As a pro are you suggesting a stage between clay and C1?

Thanks paddy. I've clayed a number of cars without a problem but will heed your advice.
