Ok, so I don't have the most glamorous car in the world, it's a Mondeo estate but after a repair/respray am I being picky in not being happy with this?

Ok, beforehand (and the original damage) for context.

Same area post repair

Rear door comparison:

Close up on resprayed door "spots" / pinholes.

vs other side

Rear passenger door

Finally drivers door front/wing

vs other side.

Now in a lot of regards I'd rather not send it back again, this is the second attempt they've had at it (the first was even worse) and I'm wondering if it would be better to go back to the insurance company instead rather than go back to the bodyshop. Apart from anything I've already lost the car for 6 weeks this year due to resprays and have had a succession of crap cars. frown

So am I being picky and should just put up with it? Or if not should I go back to bodyshop or insurance company?

Yes it was all organised by the insurance so was one of their approved places.
Not that I have a place I'd rather send it to as I've not been one to need them much previously...

Thanks. I did some googling last night on the subject and there are reports (some on here) of "detailers" sanding back the lacquer and polishing to remove orange peel (mostly it seems on BMW's!)

If that's just the case would I be better off with a "detailer" than a bodyshop?

Unfortunately there is nothing like for like. Top end petrol turbo Mondeo Estate, nearest is the "Medium Premium" class but it's "just a Mondeo" so I don't get that and instead I've had a diesel Galaxy, diesel Rav4 and a Micra (least worst actually was the Micra!)

Last time I said I don't care what it is as long as long as it seats 4 and isn't diesel. I got a diesel Rav4. frown
I used to be dismissive of the people who demanded expensive like for like on hire cars for insurance but after being without mine for 6 weeks so far this year I've changed my mind. Bit different a crappy curtsey for a day for a service to three weeks.

I'm currently awaiting responses from both the manager of the bodyshop and insurance company..
