I have just bought an MG from a dealer that had mopped it prior to sale. The fluid has run into all the gaps and dried. It's no problem removing it from around doors, bonnet, boot etc It's in gaps from around wing, sills and other non opening panels.
I am obviously going to have wet it in order to soften in order to remove the dried paste like substance.
I don't want to start spraying water into panel gaps on a semi laid up car this time of year. I was thinking of using a clear detail spray and cloth, is that as bad as water in terms of corrosion. Any other ideas before I attack the problem.

Cotton buds wetted with 50%IPA to 50% filtered water should do the trick
