Bought a tin of this stuff yesterday to give the misses car a bit of a tidy up. Despite the tin guaranteeing a shine I just couldn't get it to produce anything resembling a gloss finish. I made sure the surfaces were thoroughly cleaned before application and I was using new microfibre cloths but this stuff just refused to work. Tbh. most of what was coming out appeared to be propellant and was quickly evaporating away. Now I wasn't expecting showroom levels of finish from the stuff but seeing as it is a Simoniz product I was expecting a certain amount of quality. If you're tempted to buy some of this I suggest you leave it on the shelf and get something else. I get a feeling it's something Simoniz have produced very cheaply for various retail outlets.

Is it genuine Simoniz or a fake?
Not sure, I assume it's genuine. Says made by Holts on the back, or words to that effect.

Why would you want a glass dashboard? Surely it would just reflect in the windscreen.
Well you don't have to go nuts on the areas of the dash that might reflect in the screen but I do like a rich gloss finish to most of the interior trim. Autoglym vinyl & rubber care is very good at this and is what I normally use.
