Bird S**t

What advice for removing baked on bird s**t?

Are there and sprays/cloths/witchcraft that anyone would recommend? SHMBO tends to find the car at the end of the day under several large splats of bird s**t which spend the day getting baked on. She would probably leave them for a few years, but I'd rather do something. Sometimes nothing short of a chisel would do the trick, so alternatives would be helpful.
