Sprayed Mirror covers with halfords paints, alternatives?
Discussion
So I took the GF's textures black plastic mirror covers and sanded them, primed them, sprayed, and then lacquered them, all with Halfords finest. Upon it's first wash the other day I've noticed the bug smears have actually eaten and distorted the lacquer and the colours (white) is now impregnated with black smudges which don't scrub out when washing.
What did I do wrong and what can I improve? The covers where left to dry a few days before placing them on. I know bugs can damage paint work but obviously this is more sever and although I wasn't expecting some amazing showroom finish I expected a lot more! What are my alternatives when it comes to re-spraying them? Are other superior rattle cans available or something else?
I've a few bits to touch up on my shed and was hoping to use this approach but now worried the finish will be ruined within a few months!
